Getting in the mood for jubilee celebrations, children shared a new story all about the Queen's knickers by Nicholas Allen. After the story about different knickers for every occassion, including parachute pants for air travel children came up with lots of ideas on the style of pants Her Majesty should wear for a visit to our preschool. A short trip to the post box later and the designs were sent off for royal approval.

The Children at Alderley Edge preschool were delighted to find a letter from Buckingham palace waiting for them on their return from the summer break. Writing from Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s Lady-in –waiting wrote,

”The Queen wishes me to write and thank you all for the splendid letter and pictures which you sent on the occasion of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.

The Queen greatly appreciated your thought for her and, although her Majesty is unable to reply to you personally, I am to thank you all very much once again for writing to The Queen in this historic year.”

She also thought to send us one of her comemorative cards with photographs over the last sixty years.
