There is a team of highly skilled people inclusive of staff and committee board members, led by Becca Daniel who is our setting manager and Ofsted registered person.

Those with a vested interest in the Pre School volunteer to become a member of the committee board (a trustee) to work with the manager and the staff team to ensure decision-making is undertaken in the best interests of the families and children who attend.

The level of commitment varies based on the role. Certain trustees are assigned ‘officer’ roles and are given additional key tasks to perform, reporting back to the committee for direction and authorisation.  Other roles simply entail the trustees to attend a meeting once a term and where necessary share any other projects or fundraising initiatives that might crop up through the year.

The current committee who form the trustees of the Alderley Edge charity are:

Manager & Registered person - Becca Daniel

Board Chair - Lucy Wildig
Treasurer/Fianance – Anne Sheehan

Others - Kerry O'Malley & Lyndsey Platt

As the Preschool is a charity, roles have to be carried out in accordance with the legal framework provided by the Charities Acts, employment legislation and the EYFS. Further information on this can be found in the ‘Committee Welcome Pack’ and online via the Charities commission website.

How can you get involved? The preschool is dependent on the enthusiasm, commitment and good will of volunteers giving their time to get involved and welcomes new members. Trustees are elected, and as charities are not-for-profit, trustees cannot receive any payment or wage for their work, other than reimbursement for reasonable expenses. If you would like to find out more then please speak to Becca Daniel, the chair Lucy Wildig or any committee members who would be really happy to talk to you and answer any questions you have.  All members are required to complete a DBS check and register with Ofsted. Step by step guidance can be provided for this.
