Sam Higgins 

BSc (hons). PGCE. Early Years Professional Status (EYPS)  


With over 10 years experience of working in early years, was appointed as manager in 2009. 

Recent training has included capturing children’s thinking through the use of learning stories, Block play and tracking children’s’ progress.

Also responsible for Health and safety and Achieving positive behaviour as well as acting as the settings Special educational needs co-ordinator.

 Julie Jackson

Dip. Children 

and young people (level 3)

Julie has been involved with the preschool since 2008, joining us as a practitioner in 2011.

Her recent training has included developing concentration skills in young children as well as food safety.

Julie is now taking on a new role to develop and lead music sessions with the children to support communication skills.

 Jacqui has been qualified in working with children since 2006 and was appointed as deputy manager here at AEPP in 2009. Recent training has included Letters and Sound, our early years phonics programme as well as developing Outdoor learning opportunities

Acts as our Designated Safeguarding lead for children.

Adrian Berrisford

Cache level 3, specialist support

Adrian has many years experience of working across the different age groups in a school environment before successfully completing recognised level 3 training.

 

 Christina Hicklin

BA (hons) Early childhood studies

Christina has worked with children in full time day nurseries completing her honours degree in Early Childhood studies in 2011 and we are delighted she has joined our team this Summer, 2014, as one of our lead preschool practitioners. Specialist training has included dealing with food allergies, allergic shock reaction (anaphalaxis) as well as advanced safeguarding training.
